The Original Sin

Vodafone keeps mis-selling its 4G contracts.

On July 31st 2014 a Vodafone advisor called me to offer a package to upgrade to 4G.

The packaged included:
  •  Upgrade to 4g
  •  Free Spotify
  •  Unlimited data for 3 months
  •  7Gb of data for the remaining period of contract
  •  FREE INSURANCE
  •  Early upgrade in January instead of April
All of these were included on my contract for just 5£ a month on top of my bills!

I couldn't believe how good this offer was! I even asked more than once if was all true and he confirmed that whenever I'd have any problem with my phone, Vodafone would send it to warranty and give a me another handset while mine get fixed.

Obviously I accepted.

It's only 3 months after, when I needed the insurance, that I found out, with my greatest surprise, that the insurance has never been added.

My first thought was that there was a mistake. So i immediately called the customer service that could only confirmed the sad news....I've been tricked!

Unfortunately they'e never admit that, and they are still hiding himself behind the fact that an advisor doesn't have the possibility to add insurance without checking the handset first.

I then asked for the recording, but unfortunately they are authorized to give the recordings only before 60 days.  But even if I would have been able to get the recording (and here it comes the shocking news) with evidence that the advisor deliberately lied to me, they still wont' do anything a part from open a disciplinary action against the advisor. They are not even able to offer any refund!

I started this blog with the only purpose of making people aware of the ruthless selling techniques that Vodafone is using to upsell their 4G contracts.

My Goal is to make this blog a space for everyone who wants to tell their terrible Vodafone experience and put pressure for more controls over their sales advisors.

If you want to tell your story, I'd be happy to publish it .
